Beers this weekend

Punkin

I love me some Dogfish Head brew! This seasonal “Punkin Ale” is quite wonderful. Lots of spice, I could really taste the cinnamon, but it finishes smooth and the spiced flavor enhances the ale rather than distracts from it. Too bad this isn’t available year round.

Nothing ESB about the ESB. Good, basic session style beer. Easily could drink six while playing darts.

Also had a bottle of Olfabrikken Porter…yum! Seriously, if you haven’t done so already, go to your local store that sells a wide variety of beer and demand that they get you some if it isn’t already on the shelves. You will not regret it.

Tried the Kennebunkport IPA…tasted fine for a amber or copper style ale but I’d hardly classify it as an IPA. I couldn’t really detect any of the typical floral tones and didn’t really find it to be bitter.

Last Tuesday, we tried Boulder Beer’s Singletrack Copper and Sundance Amber. I liked the Amber better but both were very drinkable and I honestly couldn’t tell you the difference at this point as we sampled far more than a Tuesday night should allow.
